कहा जाता है कि कि यदि ये एक बार आपको शुगर हो जाए तो ये हमेशा आपके साथ बनी ही रहती है| दिल की बीमारी की तरह शुगर या मधुमेह भी आजकल की मॉडर्न सोसाइटी में पाए जाने वाले कुछ रोगों में से एक है| मधुमेह रोग के होने का कारण इन्सुलिन नामक हार्मोन का स्राव है| इसके होने के अन्य कारणों में आप अत्यधिक तनाव, वजन या उम्र का बढ़ना के साथ ही जेनेटिक कारण भी हैं|  यह एक ऐसी बीमारी है जिसमें ज्यादा से ज्यादा परहेज ही आपको सुरक्षित रखता है| यदि आपने परहेज में कोई गलती की या एक आवश्यक निश्चित दिनचर्या का अनुसरण नहीं किया तो आपको उसी अनुपात में परेशानी ज्यादा झेलना पड़ सकता है|


यह रोग केवल वंशानुगत रोग नहीं बल्कि स्वास्थ्य के अनुरूप एक अच्छी जीवन शैली न रखने से भी हो जाता है जैसे कि अधिक  मीठे का सेवन करने से, अच्छी नींद न लेने से, अत्यधिक धूम्रपान करने से, ज्यादा टेंशन या तनाव से, कम फाइबर वाले पदार्थों का सेवन  करने से यह प्रॉब्लम हो सकती है |

  आपको सोडा, कोल्ड ड्रिंक्स या बोतल बंद पेयजल का सेवन कम से कम करना चाहिए | खाना समय पर खाना चाहिए| देर से खाना खाने से ब्लड शुगर लेवल पर असर होता है और डायबटीज़ के होने का चांस बढ़ जाता है | अगर आपकी फॅमिली में पहले से किसी को ये समस्या है तो आपको अत्यधिक तनाब पर ध्यान देना चाहिए, क्योंकि स्ट्रैस हार्मोन के कारण भी शुगर लेवल प्रभाबित हो सकता है | कम फाइबर वाला भोजन खाने से भी शुगर की समस्या होने का खतरा बढ़ जाता है | अत्यधिक धूम्रपान करने वालों में शुगर होने का खतरा आम लोगों की अपेक्षा ३४ प्रतिशत अधिक होता है |
